A Hancock man is facing two felony charges after attacking a woman with a knife

Police say 41-year-old Jeremy Vernon Looper assaulted a Lake Linden woman with a knife on Monday.

The attack is said to have happened at the Centerline Apartments off M-26. The suspect was arrested later that day.

Looper was charged in 97th District Court with 1st Degree Home Invasion which is a felony punishable by 20 years in prison and/or a $5,000 fine if convicted.

He is also charged with Assault With A Deadly Weapon without intending to commit murder, which carries a maximum penalty of 4 years in prison and/or $2,000 fine.

His bond was set at $500,000.

Looper is due back in court for a probable cause hearing on July 8th and a preliminary exam on July 15th.
