Hancock Church Break-In Suspect Bound Over To Circuit Court

The case against the suspect accused to breaking into three Hancock churches is moving forward.

20-year-old Michael Cote appeared in 97th District Court today.

Cote is charged with two counts of Breaking and Entering with Intent–both 10 year felonies–and Malicious Destruction of Property, a five year felony.

Police say Cote broke into the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, and the Zion Lutheran Church in Hancock.

He is currently being lodged in the Houghton County Jail on a $25,000 cash bond.

He waived his preliminary hearing and was bound over to Houghton County Circuit Court.
