LLH Schools Partner With Gogebic CC

Lake-Linden Hubbell students have a lot to be excited about with the news coming out of this week’s board of education meeting. The board approved for the schools to enter into an Early College Program agreement with Gogebic Community College which will be funded through the state of Michigan. As a part of the program, students will have the opportunity to take college courses during their junior and senior years of high school, return for a fifth year while still taking college classes and then be eligible to receive an associate’s degree from Gogebic Community College. The board also approved to award up to $4,000 each to the Margaret Jones and Irving Clouthier Scholarships for the 2013-2014 school year. The board then expanded the Journeys Reading Series through the 4th grade in the upcoming school year with the goal of getting it expanded through 5th grade soon after.
