Parade of Nations Ready To Begin

The 26th Annual Parade of Nations will once again showcase the cultural diversity of the Keweenaw.

Event co-coordinator Bob Wenc says more than 60 countries will be represented in Saturday’s parade.

This year’s theme is World of Lore and Legends and the floats will feature mythological figures from many countries.

The parade begins in Hancock and crosses the Portage Lake Lift Bridge, then makes its way through downtown Houghton before reaching the Multicultural Festival at Dee Stadium where you can sample cuisine from around the world.

The Parade of Nations steps off at 11am and the Multicultural Festival takes place from noon to 3pm.
