Walk-away inmate charged for escape

An inmate who walked away from a jail work crew last week has been charged for the incident.

Thirty-five-year old Mark Revoir was arraigned Wednesday in Houghton County District Court on one count of escape from a felony jail sentence. That charge could result in up to four years imprisonment. If he is convicted, any jail time would have to be served after Revoir completes his current sentence for retail fraud.

Houghton County Sheriff’s Office Deputies say Revoir walked away from a minimum security work crew at the Houghton RV Park Friday morning and was taken into custody again later that day. He is set to appear for a preliminary exam on November 2nd.
