Hancock Man Charged With Counterfeiting Money

A Hancock man is facing a felony counterfeiting charge.

Edwards, Nicholas26-year-old Nicholas Edwards was charged with one count of Counterfeiting-coins/possession which is a felony punishable by life or any terms of years.

He was arrested after the Houghton Police Department received a complaint on Sunday from a local business of suspected counterfeit money.

The investigation resulted in a search warrant at a residence in Hancock, where a large amount of counterfeit money was seized.

Edwards is currently lodged at the Houghton County Jail.

His next court hearing is set for December 14th in the 97th District Court.
