Watchdog Group Wants More Transparency on Flint Water Crises

A government watchdog group is calling on Governor Rick Snyder to release documents relating to the Flint water crisis.

Melonie McElroy of the group Common Cause says the governor should use the State of the State address to announce he’ll make all materials related to the Flint water issue publicly available, so the people can get to the bottom of why Flint’s children and families were poisoned with lead.

She says they also want Snyder to push through strong transparency laws and apply them to the governor’s office and to all state lawmakers.

McElroy says it should not take a federal investigation for people impacted by the lead-tainted water to get information as to why and how it happened.
