Non-profit Organization Jobs

Nonprofit organizations are responsible for 10 percent of the jobs held in Michigan, according to a report from Public Sector Consultants. The analysis showed the nonprofit sector pays nearly $5 billion in wages every three months and employs 438,000 people. Approximately half those jobs are held in the health services field. The study was sponsored by the Council of Michigan Foundations and the Michigan Nonprofit Association. Public Sector Consultants CEO Jeff Williams says in strict economic terms, nonprofits invest billions, pay billions, and employ thousands, but their service roles are far more varied and important.
