Two People Injured After Their Vehicle Hits A Moose

Car-Moose AccidentTwo people were injured when the vehicle they were in struck a moose late Saturday night in Ely Township.

Around 10:00 p.m., the Ishpeming Township Police Department and the Ishpeming Township Fire Department both responded to an accident on US-41 near County Road CKL.

Police say a 2002 Ford Taurus was traveling west when the vehicle struck a moose that was in the road.

The driver and passenger in the vehicle both suffered minor injuries.

Both people were treated and released at the scene.

The moose was dead when police and firefighters arrived.
