Great Lakes Water Levels

Water levels at the Great Lakes are up heading into summer, but they’re still below the long-term average. Levels at Lake Michigan and Lake Huron -considered one lake – are 13-inches higher than last year but 8-inches below their monthly average. Heavy snow and ice from the past winter and last year’s wet spring are contributing to the increased water levels. A wet summer could help bring levels up to par with the yearly average by the fall.
