Vandals Desecrate Historic Cemetery

It’s a “terrible shame.” The words of groundskeeper Ron Klingel at the Vreeland Cemetery in Flat Rock where vandals have smashed headstones.

The historic cemetery was founded by Michael Vreeland after the Revolutionary War and was the original burial site of a Revolutionary War soldier.

He was buried there but eventually moved.

Other descendants who served in wars are still buried there.
