With improving weather conditions and Michigan communities returning to more normal seasonal operations, the State Emergency Operations Center in Lansing was deactivated Friday. Michigan State Police say during the five-day activation, personnel from state agencies monitored weather conditions and stood ready to assist local emergency personnel as needed. Captain Chris Kelenske, Commander of the Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division, says although conditions are improving, citizens should still use caution and follow safety warnings as road and weather conditions are still potentially dangerous.
