Driver Arrested After Crashing Into A Utility Pole

A Calumet woman is facing possible OWI charges after a crash early Sunday morning.

Around 12:15am, troopers from the Calumet Post responded to a one-car personal injury accident.

Police say a 56-year-old woman was driving southbound on US-41 near Haus Street in Kearsarge when her vehicle went off the roadway on the west side of the road.

The vehicle left the shoulder of the road and struck a utility pole.

The driver reportedly had minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

During the investigation, police suspected that alcohol was a factor in the crash and arrested the woman.

She was taken to the Houghton County Jail and the case turned over to the Houghton County Prosecutor.

The incident remains under investigation.
