Projects Focus On Great Lakes Shorelines

The Michigan Office of the Great Lakes is giving financial support to 15 projects along the shoreline.

Nearly one million dollars will be used by the organizations including the Alliance of the Great Lakes, City of St. Joseph, Harrison Township, Michigan Tech and the Michigan Boating Industries Association.

Specific projects will include helping paddlers in the Thumb area learn about shallow water shipwrecks, preparing a water trail for Beaver Island, improving public access to the Great Lakes and studying the economic, social and cultural values of the coastal dunes.
