Conference Looks At Region’s Prehistoric Copper

Copper Country Ancient Sites ConservancyCopper and Culture: A Conference on Prehistoric Metal Working in the Lake Superior Region.

That’s the topic of a two day event being held this weekend at the Houghton High School Auditorium.

The 2nd annual conference brings together archeologists, Native Americans, Artifact Collectors, Geologists and the public to talk about this history of copper in the region and its affect on those living here.

Copper Country Ancient Sites Conservancy founder Bob Wheeler talks about why this area is so special.
