Today is the start of Operation Safe Drive week, when law enforcement across the country and right here in Michigan will be paying close attention to bad driving behavior.
The focus is on awareness about the dangers of driving recklessly around commercials vehicles.
Lt. Steven Horwood from the Michigan State Police says there is zero tolerance for distracted driving.
He also says the goal for the week is not to write tickets but to reduce traffic fatalities to zero.
