Provision Will Help Veterans Discharged Due To PTSD

Veterans who have been denied benefits because they were given a Less Than Honorable Discharge due to behavior associated with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder or Traumatic Brain Injury will be taken care of.

Senator Gary Peters helped to include the Fairness for Veterans Provision in the Final National Defense Authorization Act.

Peters says he was inspired by a Michigan veteran who was discharged after his performance declined because he was suffering from PTSD.

The provision will benefit veterans who have served in the last 15 years.

President Obama is expected to sign the act into law.
