Medical Marijuana Dispensaries

State legislators have moved bills that would allow for the return of medical marijuana dispensaries in Michigan and the use of marijuana-laced foods. The Senate Government Operations committee on Wednesday approved legislation that would allow municipalities to permit dispensaries to sell marijuana to certified patients or caregivers, which is not currently allowed under Michigan law. Cities and townships would have some authority to restrict where dispensaries could operate. The committee also passed a bill that would add marijuana-laced foods to the definition of “medical marijuana.” The bills now head to the full Senate. Both bills have already passed the House.
