Mercury Levels In Tuna Rising

A new report says mercury in certain Pacific Ocean tuna is rising, despite atmospheric pollution levels from the early 1970s through the late 1990s remaining constant.

Paul Drevnick, a former U of M researcher and current water quality scientist in Alberta, Canada, says mercury levels in Bigeye and Yellowfin tuna has increased more than three-percent annually from 2002 to 2008.
