Michigan State Police 9-1-1 Phone Line Outage

Just before 10:30 last night, all Upper Peninsula emergency dispatch centers experienced issues with cellular telephone 9-1-1 service and the Charter Communication land-line 9-1-1 service.

The outage affected those who attempted to reach police, fire and emergency medical services at that time. The non-emergency lines were still in service, however.

The outage lasted until after midnight, when all phone lines were able to dial in to all of the emergency dispatch centers without trouble. It is unclear at this time what caused the U.P.-wide outage.

For anyone needing police, fire or emergency medical services, the phones are working again, dial 9-1-1 as usual.
