Superior AmeriCorps To Hold Recruitment Session

The Portage Lake District Library will host members of Superior AmeriCorps for an informational and recruitment session on Thursday, September 14, from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Superior AmeriCorps Director Jamie McCrum will give an overview of the organization and explain the kinds of work they do locally to make a difference in our pre-schools, local school districts, and non-profit agencies. People who are community minded, have a heart for volunteer service, and who like exploring something new are encouraged to attend. Those who are interested in joining Superior AmeriCorps for the upcoming school year will be given an application.

AmeriCorps is a national service program that provides people of all ages and backgrounds the chance to make a difference in their communities through service. In return for a year of service, members receive a living allowance, education award, healthcare benefits, education loan forbearance, professional training, and childcare benefits (if eligible).

Library programs are free and everyone is welcome. For more information, please call the library at 482-4570.
