Former Keweenaw Commissioner Stubenrauch Passes Away

Former Keweenaw County Commissioner Frank Stubenrauch has died. Stubenrauch spent 22 years on the Keweenaw County Board, including five years as chair. As an educator, he taught at the Gay School and the Arvon Township School… then served as superintendent of the Copper City and Centennial Schools, before finishing his career with the C-L-K School District. He also owned his own logging company. Stubenrauch died Friday at age 85, after a brief battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2:00 at the Erickson-Crowley-Peterson Funeral Home.
