Michigan’s official Christmas tree will come from the Upper Peninsula again this year. A 60-foot spruce from the Stephenson area will be harvested October 26th, and will be set up in front of the capitol in Lansing. The Michigan Association of Timbermen, the Great Lakes Timber Professionals Association and Michigan Operators Engineers provide the labor and transportation at no cost to the state. This will be the 32nd year Michigan has erected an official Christmas tree. 23 of the trees have come from the U.P.
