Portage Lake District Library Announces New Promotion, Partnership with District Businesses

The Portage Lake District Library will launch a new partnership with area businesses called the “Show Us Your Smart Card” program.

With “Show Us Your Smart Card,” participating businesses in the library district donate special discounts on goods or services to library members who show them their library card.

Participating businesses offer a variety of special discounts including buy-one-get-one-free offers, 15% discounts, and more on items such as camping gear, musical instruments, tattoos, and coffee.

To date, the following businesses have registered to participate in the program: 5th & Elm Coffee House and Eatery, Bramble & Stag Tattoo Parlour, Center Ice Skate and Sport, the Daily Mining Gazette, Down Wind Sports, Good Times Music, Michigan Made, Respawn Tactical Laser Tag, and Salon by Michelle.

Additional businesses in the City of Houghton and Portage Township that want to participate are invited to call the library at 482-4570.
