Retired Hancock Firefighters Honored

Three longtime firefighters for the city of Hancock are receiving special recognition for their combined 79 years of service.

Mark Dennis, John Gedda, and Philip Verville II recently retired from the Hancock Fire Department.

They were presented with plaques from the Hancock City Council at their regular meeting Wednesday.

Verville served 24 years, Gedda 26 years, including 11 ½ years as fire chief, and Dennis served 29 years. Dennis also spent 6 years on the Dollar Bay Fire Department.
