An Ishpeming man who was scheduled to begin trial this morning for his role in a police standoff last May has accepted a plea deal. 33-year-old Robert Rajala pleaded “no contest” this morning in Marquette County Circuit Court to a charge of aggravated domestic violence. He was originally charged with first-degree home invasion after breaking into a home, assaulting his girlfriend, and holding police at bay for 15 hours. The new charge carries a maximum of one year in jail, and a thousand-dollar fine.
