Marquette Woman Accused Of Stealing Drugs From Hospital

A Marquette woman is facing charges for allegedly stealing drugs from UP Health System—Marquette, where she was employed.

The Marquette Police Department says they arrested 30-year-old Heather Peterson on Friday for warrants of Larceny in a Building and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

These charges stem from an investigation by police dating back to mid-April.

75 vials of fentanyl and 75 oxycodone tablets were reported missing from the hospital. Marquette Police were able to recover 72 vials of the fentanyl.

Peterson was lodged at the Marquette County Jail and bond was set at 10% of $50,000 on each count. Both counts are felonies punishable up to 4 years in prison.
