An expansion by a ceiling tile manufacturer in L’Anse is providing 25 more jobs to Baraga County.
A grant from the Michigan Strategic Fund of $375,000 and a tax incentive from the Village of L’Anse helped make the growth of CertainTeed possible.
The company has had an operation in Baraga County for over 70 years, with more than 60 manufacturing facilities throughout the US and Canada and more than 5,700 employees.
The manufacturing plant in L’Anse is home to the ceiling tiles division and produces mainly acoustic ceiling tiles that are found in commercial and residential buildings.
The expansion has made CertainTeed one of the largest employers in the area, now employing 190 people.
