Flu vaccinations are now available for area veterans enrolled in VA health care.
Veterans may request the flu shot at their regularly scheduled VA appointments.
They can also get the shot during a walk-in clinic at the Hancock VA office on October 23rd. No appointment will be necessary if you arrive between 1:00 and 4:00.
Infection Control Nurse Ann Mattson at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain emphasizes that the vaccine uses either deactivated flu vira, or none at all. It is not possible to contract the flu by receiving the vaccine.
