Pure Michigan May Receive Funding After All

Governor Whitmer may be able to come up with some funding for Michigan’s Marketing and Tourism Division, Pure Michigan.

Funding was line item vetoed by Whitmer last Fall, so no money was available for this fiscal year.

However, a different spending bill could direct funding to Pure Michigan, according to Whitmer.

If that’s the case, the money would be used to purchase advertising for late Summer/early Fall.

Travel industry insiders have called for Pure Michigan’s funding, to be fully restored.

Governor Whitmer has proposed $15 million, for next year’s budget.
