Secretary Of State Branches Are Closed

As part of Governor Whitmer’s “Stay Home Stay Safe” Executive Order, all 131 of Michigan’s Secretary of State branches are closed.

Renewals by mail will not be offered, while the branches are closed.

Some services will still be available online, although delays in processing are likely.

Late fees which occur while the branches are closed, will be waived.

Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson said “I fully support Governor Whitmer and the leadership she is demonstrating by issuing a “stay-at-home-order. I have been communicating with her for some time on this issue, and know that it is necessary to protect the health of our employees and the public.”
