Saginaw’s Rappuhn Named “Mr. Hockey”

High School

Michigan’s “Mr. Hockey” is Brady Rappuhn, from Saginaw Heritage High School. Rappuhn amassed 89 points in 28 games this past season. He led his team to the state semifinals, before the tournament was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Rappuhn was one of six players named to the Michigan High School Hockey Dream Team, which also included Calumet’s Scott Loukus.

The announcement of the demise of this summer’s American Legion baseball season may have been premature. Legion officials issued a statement earlier this week that the season had been canceled because of COVID-19 concerns. Yesterday, they backed off, saying there had been a misunderstanding, and that no decision about this summer’s campaign has yet been finalized.

The upcoming National Football League draft will also include a fundraiser. The league is pushing forward with plans to hold its annual player selection April 23rd through 25th. The accompanying “Draft-A-Thon” will raise money for COVID-19 relief efforts. Public events that usually accompany the draft have been canceled, and team officials will participate remotely from home.
