Attorney General Nessel Announces Former Priest Bound Over For Trial

Attorney General Dana Nessel has announced  former priest Gary Allen Jacobs has been bound over to circuit court for trial,  with 11 criminal sexual conduct charges.

The offenses allegedly took place during the 80’s, when Jacobs was a priest in the Marquette Diocese.

Following testimony from 5 victims, Jacobs will face 1 charge of second degree criminal sexual conduct in Dickinson County’s Circuit Court.

He is scheduled to appear in court on June 1st.

He will face 10 additional charges from the Ontonagon County District Court. Eight charges of 1st degree criminal sexual conduct, and two second degree criminal sexual conduct.

Jacobs, 74, faces life in prison, if convicted of any of the first degree charges.

Nessel said she will prosecute to the fullest extent of the law, those who have used their authority to prey on children.
