Main Street On Calumet Awarded $50,000 Grant

Main Street on Calumet was recently awarded with a $50,000 grant, to help struggling businesses recover from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This, from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.

The grants were made possible through an extension of MEDC’s Match on Main program.

CEO Mark Burton said “The Match on Main grants will help Michigan’s downtown businesses recover from the loss of revenue as a result of COVID-19 and support workers they employ in the communities.”

The Match on Main program was expanded, and refocused their efforts on helping existing businesses, rather than help start new ones.

Community based organizations could then apply for grant funding, then make local grants to businesses in their district that were hit hard by COVID-19.
