Baraga Village Council Special Meeting

By the end of today, the Village of Baraga could have a new village manager. Three months into his tenure, Kurt Perron unexpectedly resigned from the position last week and now the village council have decided to offer the position to long-time office manager LeAnn Froberg at a special meeting tonight. If does not accept the offer, council president Wendell Dompier says they will advertise the position locally. Also at tonight’s meeting, the council will discuss the terms of the contract for newly-promoted police chief Matt Gagnier, who’s been with the department for 18 years and has been serving as interim chief for the last month.
