Once again, Highland Copper and the Copper Range Company have extended the deadline for Highland to close on its purchase of the White Pine Mine.
The purchase has dragged on for six years, first while Highland arranged financing, and, more recently, while the companies try to agree on a way to hold Copper Range harmless for any future environmental cleanup costs.
Highland hopes to mine copper in the previously untapped northern portion of the Nonesuch Lode.
The new deadline is December 31st of this year.
