U.P. Fall Beer Festival In Marquette Cancelled Over COVID-19 Fears

This year’s Upper Peninsula Fall Beer Festival, hosted by the Michigan Brewers Guild, set for September 12th in Marquette, has been cancelled over concerns due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Guild has also had to cancel two other festivals, both downstate, over COVID-19 concerns.

Guild Executive Director Scott Graham, said they are disappointed that they will once again, be unable to celebrate local beer with friends and family, but it was for their safety and that of the community that they reached this decision.

Graham also noted he was looking forward to next year’s celebration.

Support for local breweries is more important than ever, as people struggle to make ends meet, and maintain social distancing guidelines.

What’s more, July is Michigan Beer Month.

The mission of the Michigan Brewers Guild, formed in 1997, is to promote and protect Michigan’s beer industry, with hopes of ensuring 20% of all beer sales in the state are from local brewers by 2025.
