DNR Seeks Input on Forest Road Use

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is asking for input on how state forest roads should be used.

The DNR updates its online maps each spring, and conducts an ongoing process to designate which roads are open or closed to public use for both off-road and conventional vehicles.

Decisions are typically made to protect damaged natural resources, or to ensure safety on the roughly 12,300 miles of forest roads that are open to the public.

Feedback received by August 31st will be considered as the 2021 maps are developed.
