Pandemic Order Extended 12 Days

Citing continued high infection and death rates, Governor Gretchen Whitmer has extended the COVID-19 pause pandemic order for another 12 days.

Whitmer says the anticipated surge following the Thanksgiving holiday won’t begin for another few days, and we can’t afford to overwhelm our healthcare system…

“Right now, 79 percent of all hospital beds are occupied. More and more of our front line health workers – our doctors, our nurses, our first responders we rely on every day – are getting sick.”

Whitmer said that, if infection rates are more under control at that time, a gradual phase-out of restrictions can begin.
