Home invasion turns into drug bust for MSP

Deputies from the Michigan State Police – Wakefield Post responded to a residence in Rockland Township because of a home invasion and assault Friday afternoon. Troopers were able to track the stolen items to a home in Baraga County. When they executed a search warrant at the second residence they found a host of illegal drugs and paraphernalia.

Assisted by Michigan State Police – Calumet Post and the Baraga County Sheriff’s Department, the team was able to locate the property that was taken, plus heroin, methamphetamine, hallucinogens, and more. The suspects have not been identified yet pending arraignment in Ontonagon and Baraga courts. They are currently housed in the Ontonagon County Jail.

The original call came in at 2:47 PM Friday.
