Light Up Baraga County returning Dec. 11

Plans are coming together for the annual Christmas celebration in L’Anse. At a brief village council meeting last night, councilor LeAnn Davis said the date for Light Up Baraga County has been set for December 11th.

Santa is coming December 11th from 12 to 2:00. The [L’Anse] Fire Department is taking care of that and the parade will be at 5:30. The floats will come through Meadowbrook Arena and the big rigs will come down the main hill.

Some additional elements could still be added, including a hot chocolate stand, a bonfire, and a Christmas tree lighting ceremony. Houghton Community Broadcasting’s Todd VanDyke has agreed to serve as the event’s master of ceremonies.
