One person injured in Sunday accident

Yesterday afternoon at about 3:15 a vehicle rolled over on M-26 in Painesdale. The driver was injured and had to be taken to UP Health System – Portage for treatment, courtesy of Mercy Ambulance.

Assisting the Houghton County Sheriff’s Department at the scene were Houghton City Police, Adams Township Fire and First Responders and Superior Service Towing. Alcohol was not a factor in the accident.

The area saw light snowfall throughout the day, totaling between one and three inches in most places. Temperatures have been below freezing for several weeks and roads are becoming slick. Caution is advised when traveling. Take it slow and give yourself extra time to reach your destination.
