MIOSHA releases notification on worker death in Baraga

The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration has confirmed that a local man was killed on the job last week. Raymond Bellaire was 61 years old and employed at Besse Forest Products in Baraga. The notification describes the accident.

“A 61-year-old loader operator had a hydraulic line break. As he attempted to replace the hydraulic line, he loosened the wrong line and the load came down on him, crushing him against the axle.”

Emergency personnel were called to the scene last Monday just after 10 AM.
