Local Schools Receive State Security Upgrade Grants

Several Copper Country schools will benefit from state grants to help improve security.

Houghton-Portage Township schools will get $25,238. The Lake Linden-Hubbell District will collect $62,238. The Copper Island Academy will receive $35,000.

Money will go toward the purchase of equipment or technology to improve the safety and security of school buildings, students, and staff.
