Logging Truck Accident In Baraga County

US-41 between Alberta and Covington had traffic re-routed for most of Wednesday afternoon and evening, after an accident involving a logging truck.

The accident happened at about 2:30 p.m.

Police say the logging truck suffered an equipment malfunction of some kind and lost its logs. Two other semis and a passenger car then hit the logs. The logging truck slid off the road.

Sergeant Robert Carter of the Michigan State Police describes the scene.

Traffic was re-routed around the accident while emergency personnel worked to remove the damaged vehicles from the scene.
