DNR to Auction Houghton County Land

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is auctioning off some surplus property in the region.

The offering includes three parcels in Houghton County:
• A quarter-acre lot in Hubbell, with no current street access, although a previously platted road could be built. The minimum bid is set at $4,125.
• A two-thirds-acre lot in Portage Township, with questionable access. The minimum bid is set at $2,000.
• An 18.5-acre parcel with 3,000 feet of Torch Lake frontage off the Bootjack Road in Torch Lake Township. The only access is via Torch Lake, or across private land. The minimum bid is set at $169,000.

Additional parcels are being offered for sale across the state.
