Regional Blood Shortage Continues

The blood shortage across the Upper Peninsula continues.

The UP Regional Blood Center says supplies of all blood types are severely low.

A blood drive will be held this afternoon from 2 until 6 at the L’Anse Township Hall. To make an appointment, call Anna at 524-3376. Walk-ins are also welcome.

Donors can also make an appointment at the U.P. Regional Blood Center office in Hancock by calling 483-1392.

All blood donated through the U.P. Center stays in the Upper Peninsula.

The Red Cross will also make a rare trip to the region this week for the fall blood drive at Michigan Tech. Donations will be taken at the Memorial Union Building Ballroom between 10 and 4 tomorrow and Thursday.

Appointments are recommended, but walk-ins will be welcome based on availability.

To schedule an appointment, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767), or make an appointment online prior to the drive here.
