As was speculated yesterday morning, the Lions have signed quarterback Nate Sudfeld to back up Jared Goff. Sudfeld was cut earlier this week by the 49ers. Guts Frisbee

The man who helped build Guts Frisbee into a worldwide sport has died.

Jim Boggio had a wide-ranging career as an educator, businessman and community leader. In the athletic world, though, he was best known as the lead promoter of the obscure sport that first surfaced in the Copper Country. Using the pseudonym Harvey J. Kukuk, he promoted the International Frisbee Tournament locally, and pushed the sport onto a national and international stage. Boggio was honored as the first recipient of the Dave Bradshaw Award for service to Guts Frisbee. He passed away Tuesday at age 87. Arrangements are being handled by the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home.
