Michigan Small Game Hunting Seasons Open Today

Small game hunting season opens in Michigan today. 

Hunters can begin harvesting a number of animals.

Seasons for cottontail rabbit, snowshoe hare, fox squirrels and gray squirrels will be open through March 31. The daily bag limit is five, and the possession limit is 10.

Ruffed grouse seasons will run from September 15 through November 14, and December 1 through January 1. Limits vary by region.

The woodcock season continues through October 29. The daily bag limit is three, and the possession limit is nine. 

Pheasant seasons will begin next month.
