New MTU Football Class Laden with Yoopers

The Michigan Tech football team’s incoming freshman class will include seven Upper Peninsula players.

The recruits were introduced today.

Yooper joining the squad include:
• Nate Benninger, who starred as a wide receiver at Marquette High School, but was recruited as a running back;
• Peter Closner, a tight end from Marquette;
• Luke Gorzinski, who was a three-time all-state quarterback at North Central High School, but was recruited as a wide receiver;
• Cole Myllyla, a defensive back from Kingsford;
• Nic Nora, a wide receiver from Kingsford;
• Josiah Peramaki, a linebacker from Munising;
• Micaiah Peramaki, a linebacker from Munising.
